NEW YORK, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP) today announced that it has sold its Healthcare Information Group to specialist publisher, Vendome Group, LLC. Terms were not disclosed.

The Healthcare Information Group comprises magazines The Physician and Sportsmedicine, Postgraduate Medicine and Healthcare Informatics, as well as a variety of healthcare information programs that serve the medical market.

"Divesting this business is consistent with our strategy to direct resources where we have the best opportunities to achieve both financial growth and market leadership," said Scott Marden, president of McGraw-Hill Information and Media Services. "We remain strongly focused on building our key business information and market insight franchises which include J.D. Power and Associates, BusinessWeek, Platts, McGraw-Hill Construction and Aviation Week."
